'New CD 'Les illuminations' gets good reviews from Dutch Press
The new released CD of the Britten Youth String Orchestra featuring Bernadeta Astari as soprano in Benjamin Britten's 'Les Illuminations' was very well received by the Dutch musical press.
"A top achievement of the Britten Youth String Orchestra... conductor Loes Visser achieves wonderful intonation, controlled tension, subtle dynamic phrasing - what could one ask more?
Jos van der Zanden, review Britten CD 2015 in KLASSSIEKE ZAKEN magazine, feb 2016
"They touch the yearning, intense, melancholic atmosphere right in the heart. With a modest and sad, but rich and full sound, that becomes gradually more passionate, without ever exaggerating the pathos. Seldom Barber sounded this close to Mahler!"
Thea Derks, Britten CD 2015 in CULTUURPERS, jan 2016
"Remarkable is the wonderful and very mature approach of the music. This is a top orchestra at work!
